IKBN KINARUT ENGLISH DAY CARNIVAL 2019

 

 

KINARUT ; The 2019 IKBN Kinarut English Day Carnival was held on Friday, 22nd of November 2019. The program was the final activity planned by the English Club for this year in term of the English Empowerment Initiatives in IKBN Kinarut. The objectives of this program are to encourage and increase the usage of English language among students and staffs whether in speaking, reading or writing, to improve everyone’s English vocabulary, and to improve confidence in speaking and expressing ourselves in English.

 

The program was held for a whole day, starting with Morning Assembly in English at 7.00 A.M., followed by the DJ Session or the English Club Radio Broadcast at 9.30 A.M. and later by the Scrabble contest for IKBN Kinarut’s staff at 9.50 A.M. After the lunch break and Friday prayer, the program continued with the Treasure Hunt for students at 2.30 P.M., followed by the Storytelling Contest for staff’s children at 3.30 P.M. and later by the Karaoke Contest for students at 4.00 P.M. Apart from all those activities, the short story (fiction) writing contest for students were open two weeks prior to the day of the program. The short stories submission was close 3 days before the program to make sure the judge got enough time to read all of the entries.

 

The prize-giving and closing ceremony took place at the Limau-limauan hall at 4.30 P.M., and was officiated by the Director of IKBN Kinarut, PuanZuariniJumai. In her speech she mentioned the importance of learning English as a second language especially in this globalized, without border world. She also congratulate the English Club for organizing such program where IKBN Kinarut’s staff and students could learn and practice their English in a fun and interactive ways. The program was participated by 267 IKBN Kinarut students, staffs and their children. It is hoped that such program could be improved and implemented next year.
